UN confirms chemical attack in Syria and reddit bans Navy Yard shooting subreddit plus more

The United Nations report alleged chemical
attack which took place on the 21st August In Syria was published today. What we now
know is that chemical weapons were used. According to the United Nations “chemical weapons have
been used in the ongoing conflict between the parties in the Syrian Arab Republic; also
against civilians, including children, on a relatively large scale. In particular, the
environmental, chemical and medical samples, we have collected, provide clear and convincing
evidence that surface-to-surface rockets containing the nerve agent Sarin were used in Ein Tarma,
Moadamiyah and Zamalka in the Ghouta area of Damascus,” The UN didn’t assign blame to who used the
weapons – as expected – but it has confirmed that a large scale chemical attack did take
place. Ban Ki Moon, the UN secretary general, refused to assign blame but described the
attack as a War Crime, the perpetrators of which, he said, must be held accountable.
The Syrian Government are yet to respond, Russia said we mustn’t jump to conclusions
and that there were “serious grounds” to believe the attack had been a provocation by rebel
forces’ whilst France, UK, and the US all suggested the report vindicated their assessment
that Bashar al-Assad had carried out the attack. “But the technical details of the UN report
make clear that only the regime could have carried out this large scale chemical weapons
attack.” Here’s Laura. Reddit has banned a subreddit that was designed
to find possible suspects behind the Navy Yard mass shooting that took place in Washington,
DC on the 16th September. Although police have now confirmed that there
is only one suspect for the attack – 34-year-old Aaron Alexis who was himself shot dead at
the scene – they’d initially said that another individual may also have been involved. According to reddit’s general manager Erik
Martin, the subreddit was banned because it “violated site rules by encouraging the posting
of personal information.” And this isn’t the first time that redditors
have tried to use the site for armchair detective work. Back in April 2012, reddit and 4chan users
collaborated to help find the people being the Boston Marathon bombing. But it all went horribly wrong when several
people were falsely identified as possible suspects, including Sunil Tripathi, a 22-year-old
university student who had gone missing the previous month and was later found dead. Shortly after, reddit apologised for its role
in providing a platform for the witch hunt and it seems that by banning the Navy Yard
subreddit it is trying to prevent a similar situation from unfolding again. Now here’s Grace Scientists have discovered a second stock
exchange, one powered by machines, one that can trade faster than any human ever could. Another thing about this stock exchange is
that 18,000 ultra-fast extreme events have occurred completely undetected over a period
of five years between 2006-2011. Not only are computers doing things faster
than us but they’re doing it without us even realizing. This trading system makes regulation an absolute
nightmare because how can you police something that you don’t even know is happening. Trading at these sorts of speeds creates volatility
which makes markets less efficient. How far can this human and robot mashup go?
Let us know in the comments. Here’s Sam. As many of our younger audience will know
only too well, your driving licence is one of the most important pieces of ID you can
carry. It’s always on hand so you can prove who you are, and buy beer and lottery tickets.
But what if your ID is too long for your… ID. A Hawaiian woman has just forced the government
to climb down on a ruling that meant she couldn’t have her full name on her driving licence,
instead, she was known as Janice Lokelani. Because Janice, who married and gave up her
maiden name Worth in 1992, is now, Mrs… Kei-han-aiju-kaua-kahi-huli-heeka-haun-aele. Which quite simply wouldn’t fit. At 36 letters
and 19 syllables it was far too long for Hawaiian computer systems to input. And it meant she
got hassle from police for having incorrect ID, who she said treated her Hawaiian heritage
like mumbo jumbo. The name, she says, has many layers of meaning, including “one who
would stand up and get people to focus in one direction when there was chaos and confusion,
and help them emerge from disorder”. And it seems to have worked — Hawaii says
it now plans to upgrade it’s computers by the end of the year.

  1. So grateful to have your version of media without the lies and corruption, been following you since day one and just wanted to say thank you so much for all you do

  2. wtf are they saying that redditers outed an innocent 22 year old for the boston bombings and someone killed him, and his body was found a month later?

  3. Most likely yes, ofc it is impossible to know for sure, but with occam's razor – yes. This is what can happen when people without authority take authority.

  4. So they don't know who did it, surprise surprise, and the western leaders are saying it was Assad, although there is no evidence, and saying something over and over doesn't make it true. Normally they'd blame it on Al-Qaeda, but they can't do that anymore can they? Not since they have made it clear they're best mates with terrorist mercenaries.

  5. "Reddit and 4chan users collaborated" Incorrect, 4chan hates reddit and neither of them found it. I find both sites (now) utter shite with a boring community, but no, they didnt collab.

  6. Are you kidding? The so called "Agent Orange" was a herbicide like DDT but it was highly contaminated with TCDD. This little ingredient is one of the most toxic dioxin compounds and killed over 500,000 alone! Up to this date more than 400,000 babies were born with severe malformations because their mother was exposed to this crap while being pregnant.

  7. I don't remember ever hearing of a war where innocent civilians, women, and children weren't collateral damage. Not sure why there's such an issue of chemical weapons here either. War kills. The lenders and bankers win.

  8. Reddit declares false advertisement when the say they're the "front page of the internet", yet they also claim they don't guarantee anyone's freedom of speech… Think about it!

  10. no, he killed himself. He went missing, and his family was looking for him. The reddit users said that he was a terrorist and went on the family's website to insult them (treating them of terrorists etc…) Then the missing guy was found dead. He committed suicide.

  11. Considering Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Agent Orange, Napalm, and depleted uranium, I find it hilarious how the US gets to play prosecutor on chemical weapons.

  12. they said that that person was later found to having been one of the victims of the attacks. Or so I think

    (pardon my weird English)

  13. I like how no matter what the topic of a truthloader video is there's always an argument about jews in the comment's section or some unrelated shit.

  14. Thank you, UN for confirming what we already knew a month ago. Now tell us WHO carried out the attack. Though its a confirmation really, that there probably wont be a confirmation of which side carried out the attack.

  15. No, sorry, we should have been more clear with our wording. Sunil Tripathi was later found dead but in apparently completely unrelated circumstances (police didn't suspect foul play). The point was that he was falsely identified as a suspect at a time that was already very difficult for his family and friends. You can find out more about that particular story by watching our video that we made on it at the time. There is an annotation on this video with a link to that.

  16. I thought that the Hawaiian lady retained the name because it reminds her of her deceased husband. Not because she herself came from Hawaii. Cool story none the less.

  17. are you sure? what i heard is that he was already in a depressed state, and went missing. Then people started talking about him because he was at the bomb scene and since he was missing the morons thought he was the bomber. Then he was found dead (and i believe he killed himself before knowing people accused him of terrorism) But then again, i might be wrong. All i know is that some stupid people think you can become a journalist just like that, without any work or education leading up to it.

  19. Reddit is basically WORSE than 4chan because reddit is so hypocritical.

At least 4chan let themself LOOK like assholes. Redditors try to pretend to be all righteous and educated while acting like total fucking assholes.

  20. because they were drilled and scared to death with the Bible and its a part of their reality now. And they tend to force that fear onto you because they don't know any better..or its based off of their faith or something…
